One of my favorite fall desserts is Apple Pie, and if you make that la mode I will eat a whole pie in one sitting. The flaky crispy crust and that spiced apple filling are what good dreams are made of. So, when we decided that we were not going to post the traditional apple pie recipe, I felt pretty strongly that we needed to at least showcase those flavors for a fall recipe.
While looking for autumn recipes to experiment with we were determined to find ones that are less “expected.” Apple Pies and Crisps need not apply. So, when we found this recipe on Smitten Kitchen we decided we had to try it. The flavors were a nice twist on the expected autumn palette of ginger, apples, and caramel. More
