Vanilla Whipped Cream

  • 1 cup (1/2 pint) heavy or whipping cream
  • 2 teaspoons pure vanilla paste or extract
  • 2 tablespoons granulated sugar
  1. Beat the cream and vanilla in bowl with a whisk or an electric mixer just until loose peaks form.
  2. Sprinkle the sugar over the cream and continue to beat just until soft peaks form. Take care not to over beat the cream or it will start to look curdled.
  3. Taste and serve.
If you haven't perfected your hand whisking, whipped cream is the perfect thing to perfect it on. However, if you are in a rush use an electric mixer. Start on medium speed and work your way up. Stop when the cream looks silky. If you over mix the cream it will look curdled or buttery. If this happens eat it any way! It's still delicious.
